I was born in Calafat, Dolj county, Romania and have lived in Resița, Caraș Severin county until the age of 19. In 2000, I completed my Bachelor’s Degree and Master’s Degree in Business Administration at the largest university in Scandinavia – University of Gothenburg from Sweden.

I also had the opportunity to be part of an exchange program held at London School of Economics in 2003 and a study mobility program in Montreal at Hautes Études Commerciales in 2005. Until 2008, I worked as a business consultant both in France and Sweden.

I was a business analyst at Kalin Setterberg in Stockholm, Amadeus IT Group in Nice and a management consultant at Sogeti Capgemini Group in Paris. I have developed a strong career of over 12 years in the domain of strategic management and commercial performance through my education and my professional experience in France, Sweden and Romania. You will find more about my professional activity on my LinkedIN profile.

Firstly, I worked at Roland Berger as a consultant and I took care of strategic development, market analysis, sales, marketing strategies, restructures, performance improvement, organizing and change management. I contributed to the post fusion integration strategy of two grand energy companies and the evaluation of the synergy potential of the fusion. I was also responsible for the strategic development of market entry for one of the biggest European banks, including the analysis of potential clients and the target products for each of the client segments.

Between 2011 and 2014, I worked at Lafarge, starting as a Strategy and Business Development Officer and then working as a Pricing and Commercial Performance Officer. I contributed to the development of a commercial strategy and to establishing the prices in Romania (a 3.5% increase in prices on a market with a –11% decrease) as well as to the creation of a new economic policy and the implementation of said price policy, which led, in 2013, to a first price increase in four years.

I led strategic development projects for companies belonging to the financial and energy fields and I was responsible for the commercial strategy of Lafarge Romania, which was considered a model of good practice overall, with it later being implemented in twenty one other countries.

In January 2016, during The Cioloș Cabinet, I became an Adviser to the Deputy Prime-Minister within the Ministry of Economy. I took over the role of Chief of Staff at InvestRomania in February of the same year. During my mandate at InvestRomania, me and my team transformed the organization into a real hub for foreign investors by presenting Romania as a profitable business destination.

Key achievements are:

  • First English website focused on foreign investment and business opportunities, part of the Government of Romania

  • The Foreign Investor’s Guide – a  tool created to support foreign investors navigate the Romanian business environment when opening a business

  • „Romania – The Strategic Choice” – a Country Presentation  about the reasons why Romania should become the next business destination

  • A presentation of Romania’s industrial, scientific and technological sectors and the support offered by government to foreign investors

  • The InvestRomania Newsletter

  • The Romanian Export Guide

While I held the role of Chief of Staff at InvestRomania, the foreign investments increased by 22% as compared to previous year. This increase of the foreign capital helped stimulate a healthy economic growth and create almost 50 000 new jobs.

During this period, big investment projects like Airbus Helicopters at Ghimbav, Brașov – a EUR 52 million investment, Star Transmission (a Daimler’s local subsidiary) at Alba – a EUR 300 million investment, Faurecia at Râmnicu Vâlcea – a EUR 12 million investment, Continental inauguration of a new R&D center – a EUR 6 million investment were all launched by InvestRomania.

Cauzele Oana Bîzgan

By the end of 2016, I made the decision to continue to fight for a better future in Romania. I decided to stand as a candidate in Romanian Parliamentary Elections together with my colleagues from USR – Save Romania Union and I was elected  Member of Parliament and President  of the Gender Equality Committee.

As from November 2017, I decided to continue my mandate as an independent Member of the Romanian Parliament, free from any form of political constraints and stay focused on what really matters. I remained loyal to the fundamental values of USR – Save Romania Union and still am in great professional relationships with my former colleagues with whom I work at the Parliament of Romania. I invite you to take a look at my parliamentary activity.
