#Girl2Leader campaign for the first time in Romania
It’s time for a change.
It’s time for girls to have the courage to be and become leaders, with their hearts and minds open.
This is the main goal of the #Girl2Leader campaign. It is an invitation for girls all around the world to discover female leadership models, especially from the political sphere.
#Girl2Leader is an international campaign designed to inspire and to mentor young people who want to become leaders in their community. This is under the High Patronage of the President of Malta, Marie-Louise Coleiro Preca.
I accepted the invitation of Women Political Leaders to be the host and organizer of this campaign, held for the first time in Romania.
#Girl2Leader in Romania
Between the 8th and 11th of October, 25 girls, selected from all across the country, will have the opportunity to learn more about how they can become leaders involved in the political sphere and in civil society, active citizens and role models for other members of their communities.
If you are between the ages of 14 and 17 and want to be one of the top 25 #Girl2Leader ambassadors, I invite you to find out more about this campaign and fill out this form by Monday, September 17th.
The following are among the things you will do / discover:
- Talk with and have a “job-shadowing” experience with one of the women deputies or senators of the Romanian Parliament;
- Visit the Palace of Parliament and learn more about how the legislative process works in Romania;
- Discover great examples of female leadership in the political area, civil society and the private environment;
- Have workshops on topics such as: active citizenship, leadership, equal opportunities and gender equality;
- Attend the International Day of Girls Conference, which will be held on the 11th of November, in all countries that support this cause;
After the 4 days spent together, you will be part of the first community of #Girl2Leader ambassadors. This also means that you will have the responsibility to organize, the support of me and my team, a local event focused on talking to girls in your community about what female leadership means.
