The change starts with us
In January 2016, I decided to become an active part in changing the existing system in Romania. I clearly understood that change starts with us all and that it requires lots of time, work and devotion. Only together can we make a difference and build a country that offers at the very least a basic level of human dignity for all people.
I strongly believe in Romania’s potential to be a more democratic society, a place where social justice and human rights are respected. I believe in a society with #0ToleranceForViolence and free of corruption, in a country that will help us all grow and not be constantly concerned over an unpredictable and ineffective system.
I first got involved in politics in January 2016, during The Cioloș Cabinet, when I worked at the Ministry of Economy as an Adviser for the Deputy Prime-Minister. In the same year in February, I took over the role of Chief of Staff at InvestRomania. With my team’s help, we managed to increase the foreign investment rate by 20% as compared to previous years, which led to the creation of approximately 50 000 new jobs.
All these accomplishments are giving me the energy and hope needed to believe that together we can be the change that Romania needs. We know we are stronger together. We saw that since the first day of #Colectiv protests and #Rezist Movement. The tough reality is that 3.4 million Romanians left the country in the last 10 years. Now it’s time to act!
Let’s use every day we have to prove that it’s possible to make a change and that our goals will define our country. Each day and each action are an investment in our future and Romania’s progress.
I am Oana Bîzgan, Member of the Romanian Parliament and I want to build a better future for us all.
My Term’s Priorities
EQUAL OPPORTUNITIES
It is in everyone’s best interest, especially from an economic perspective, that all members of society should be engaged and productive, to be able to contribute to the value created in Romania.
YOUTH AND CHILDREN
1 out of 2 young people under the age of 24 live in poverty. Today’s young people and children are full-time citizens and need a good environment to build Romania of tomorrow.
PUBLIC HEALTH
We are positioned on the penultimate place as average life expectancy (75 years) in the EU due to an inefficient distribution of resources. We currently allocate only 4% of GDP to the health sector.
ECONOMY
We need to use the competitive advantages of different sectors to reposition Romania as an essential player on the European and global value chain.
PARLIAMENTARY ACTIVITY
We need to build a better future
