Project Description
Parliamentary Activity Reports
Three and a half years of #RockThisCountry
Three years and a half of my term have passed. Seven session of parliamentary activity, out of which more than five were of independent parliamentary activity. During this time, I brought forth the topics of equal opportunities and social justice in the Romanian Parliament. Women´s rights, children’s rights and the rights of people with disabilities were the main causes that have guided my activity in this whole time.
Beyond political statements, interpellations and legislative bills, I wanted to leave behind an impactful legacy with tangible measures that could change people’s lives for better. Now, during my term, not in 2, 3 or 5 years. Because Romania does not need any other ‘sacrificed generation’, but politicians who are ready to cooperate and work together for the common good.
During this period, I aimed to transform the UN Sustainable Development Goals in concrete legislative action. For me, the SDGs are not just simple aspirations, I consider them cornerstones of the society we all want to live in. And this is a fight that can only be conducted with passion, ambition and professionalism.
I have passed eleven laws in this regard, all of them with cross-party support. Others are already in the legislative process and I fight for them every single day. My job as a MP does not stop after the vote of the Parliament. I invite you to read this parliamentary report, from proposing bills, to monitoring laws and national/international campaigns.
I am Oana Bîzgan, independent Member of the Romanian Parliament, Young Global Leader and Vital Voices Fellow. I wish to build a better present and future for all of us. Together, not divided.

EQUAL OPPORTUNITIES
It is in everyone’s best interest, especially from an economic perspective, that all members of society should be engaged and productive, to be able to contribute to the value created in Romania.
YOUTH AND CHILDREN
1 out of 2 young people under the age of 24 live in poverty. Today’s young people and children are full-time citizens and need a good environment to build Romania of tomorrow.
PUBLIC HEALTH
We are positioned on the penultimate place as average life expectancy (75 years) in the EU due to an inefficient distribution of resources. We currently allocate only 4% of GDP to the health sector.
ECONOMY
We need to use the competitive advantages of different sectors to reposition Romania as an essential player on the European and global value chain.
Let’s change Romania together!
Don’t forget that great things are not made by a single individual! Let’s use every day we have to prove that it’s possible to make a change and that our goals will define our country. Come join my team!
